The Mine - one of the most beautiful Wonders of the World

We already know the results of a plebiscite conducted by the National Geographic Poland and the National Geographic Traveler, where 30 most beautiful places on the Earth were selected.The "Wieliczka" Salt Mine was judged as the s e c o n d most charming place on our planet, the first being the amazing Market Square in Cracow.

Apparently the Mine fascinates more than the pyramids in Gizeh, Great Chinese Wall or the Venentian Grand Canale.The subsequent places in the plebiscite were taken by: the Old Market Square and the Old Townhall in Toruń and the Kazimierz suburb in Cracow.

The official announcement of the results took place on 17th June in Warsaw.

One could vote for the 30 most beautiful places on our planet from 8th February till 1st May.

The jury consisting of travelers, scientists and journalists created a list of 100 places one could vote for by sending an SMS.

30 object have been chosen - picturesque landscapes and extraordinary buildings located in Poland and overseas.

The 30 objects chosen by the participants of the plebiscite are presented in a great photography exhibition entitled "The most beautiful places on the Earth", which can be viewed in Warsaw from 18th June.The exhibition, referring to the international plebiscite that took place last year, entitled "The Seven New World Wonders" shall also be shown in Gdańsk (9th-19th July), Poznań (30thJuly - 19th August), Wrocław (20th August - 9th September) and Cracow (10th - 30th September).
