On invitation of the First Degree Music School in Wieliczka we had the guests in our town - the pupils of the Musikschule Padjas from Vienna. On 20th June (Friday) they performed in the Gothic Chamber of the Cracow's Saline Works Museum to celebrate the end of school year with an official piano music programme.
The gathered had an opportunity to hear - among others - the g-minor Polonaise by Chopin, the Drummers' March by Garścia, Prelude by Rybicki or a Krakowiak by Skalska. The concert performed by the pianists from Vienna was finished by Anabel Hiller's beautiful performance of Amelia's Waltz.
The project has been realized with the financial assistance of the Wieliczka Municipality.
The visit of the young pianists from Vienna took place as a part of the enterprising collaboration between the Musikschule Padjas and our Music School. The young Viennese musicians visited Wieliczka together with their guardian -Ms Jadwiga Padjas, born in the Polish Kielce.
The Friday concert also presented an opportunity to hear performances by the young musicians from the Wieliczka Music School.
On the beginning, Weronika Kozłowska from the violin class performed, and at the end we heard "Fur Elise" by Ludvig van Beethoven performed by the extremely talented Kasia Gabryś and energetic "Highlander Robber's Dance" performed by the "OZO" accordion quartet.
On Saturday the guests from Vienna performed in the Consulate General of Austria in Cracow.
