Step by step, our Municipality is realizing the schedule related to accession to the all-Polish programme "Orlik 2012" aiming at construction of playgrounds for children and youth.

Right now a tender has been decided concerning carrying out of this very investment in the Mickiewicz Park.

The tender in the amount of 990 thousand PLN gross has been submitted by the Katowice-based InterHall Limited Liability Firm.The Firm has met all the necessary requirements and has been verified as far as the scope of the works covered by the specification is concerned.

The realization of the investment is being planned even in the year 2008.

On 10th June 2008 the Minister of Sport and Tourism, Mirosław Drzewiecki, presented the vice-mayor of Wieliczka, Henryk Gawor with a decision concerning additional financing of the construction of a complex of playgrounds from the national budget as a part of the "Orlik 2012" Government Programme.At the same time 46 other representatives of the municipality and districts of the Małopolska region were presented with such a decision.Thus the tender procedure has started.

The "Orlik 2012" anticipates construction of multifunctional, free and generally accessible playgrounds for youth.

The playgrounds shall be properly fenced off and illuminated. They shall also be equipped with changerooms, toilets and equipment storage rooms.

The playground construction is being financed from the three sources:the National Budget, the voivodship self-government budget as well as the municipal or district budget.

The cost of one such a structure amounts to - approximately - 1 million PLN.

As a part of the programme the local governments receive a complete architectural and technical design along with the "step-by-step" realization instruction, as it has to be adjusted to the local conditions.
