The holiday sports and recreation workshops

Since the end of the school year a holiday action for the children staying in the town during the holidays entitled "The holiday sports and recreation workshops" is taking place in the Centre for Prevention and Promotion of Health in Wieliczka.

The Social Prevention "Arche" Society is the organiser while the classes are conducted by the pedagogues and tutors from the area of the Wieliczka Municipality.

The participants have a chance to participate in activities from the areas of sport, recreation, relaxation as well as in the music and art or integration games.

Various competitions and quizzes are being conducted as well.

The classes take place in the common room or, if the weather permits, in the Adam Mickiewicz Park, on the school play field or the other playgrounds of Wieliczka.

Once a week excursions are organised during which the children get to know our municipality.

So far they've visited the Ojców National Park, the Miniatures Park and the ZOO.

The workshop participants also visited important institutions such as the Civic Library, the Fire Brigade and the Police.

An excursion to the cinema and to the pool brought the children lots of joy.

The holiday excursions are being organised as a part of the preventive programme "Live Joyfully", subsidized by the Wieliczka Municipality.

The holiday workshops in the town enjoy great interest among the children.

This year over 50 persons participate, however this number is mobile, as some of the children leave for holidays, while the others come back from them.

During the day the children are invited to a repast.

The greatest award for the tutors is the joy and smiles on the faces of the kids, often sorry to leave the place after a day full of activities.
