The 20th ordinary Town Council session in Wieliczka

Yesterday, on 2nd September 2008, in the assembly hall of the Culture and Tourism Centre in Wieliczka 20th ordinary Town Council session took place, during which a new councillor, Agata Jakubiak, joined the Council of the Town and Municipality of Wieliczka. The new councillor took the place hitherto occupied by Urszula Rusecka, due to the expiry of her mandate.

The subsequent resolutions were passed according to the established agenda.

At the the end of the session, mayor Artur Kozioł encouraged the councillors,chairmen of the housing estates and the village administrators to get acquainted with the current landslides register in the Wieliczka Municipality prepared by the State Institute of Geology.

A resolution has been passed during the 20th ordinary Town Council session concerning taking out a long-term loan allowing increase of the financial means for the reconstruction of the Słowackiego Street, construction of the Education and Recreation Centre (stage I and II) as well as construction of two playgrounds along with sanitary resources and changerooms at the Parkowa Avenue as a part of the programme "My playground Orlik 2012".

The councillors of the Wieliczka Municipality have also passed a resolution anticipating passing over the funds for working out a conception of expansion of the junction of the provincial road no 964 with the Piłsudski Street in Wieliczka, which shall subsequently be passed over to the Małopolska Voivodeship as tangible help.

The councillors of the Wieliczka Municipality granted a power of attorney to the mayor Artur Kozioł concerning conclusion of an agreement with the Małopolska Voivodeship governor allowing for the transfer of 5 thousand PLN from the Małopolska Voivodeship Office in Cracow and 30 thousand PLN from the Protection of Fights and Martyrdom Council in order to subsidize renovation of the 1st and 2nd World War headquarters located at the Communal Cemetery of Wieliczka.

By the decision of the Council, the capital of the Communal Economy Institute in Wieliczka shall be increased by the amount of 400 thousand PLN in relation to the necessity of financing the elimination of two serious network failures and the need of realization of investment plans.

The other significant resolutions passed during this session are: purchase by the Wieliczka Municipality of the real estate being hitherto the property of natural persons being the residents of Lednica Górna, Mietniów, Pawlikowice and Sułków in order to broaden the municipal road; establishment of the ground easement of pedestrian and mobile passage through the real estate located in Gołkowice, being the municipal property and reception of report concerning the activity of the Civic - Municipal Social Aid Centre in Wieliczka for the year 2007.

To close the session, mayor Artur Kozioł encouraged the acquaintance with the current map of the landslides in the Wieliczka municipality prepared by the National Geological Institute the Carpathian branch in Cracow.

324 landslides have been registered in the municipal area, with the simultaneous designation of the degree of their activity. The landsliding areas have been classified as: active, periodically active and inactive. It is worth mentioning that the areas classified as active landlslides are absolutely invalid as construction sites.
