Presently renovation works are underway concerning renovation of an attic on the building of the Agricultural – Commercial “Socha” Cooperative at 1 Kościuszko Place along with the courtyard and the group of the Via Crucis chapels at the Franciscan-Reformer Brothers monastery as well as the finishing works related to the restoration of the St.Klemens church. Renovation of the objects enlisted in the register is being conducted under supervision of the historic objects restorer.
Until the end of November, first stage of the works concerning the historic Via Crucis located in the wall surrounding the courtyard of the Franciscan-Reformer Brothers shall end. Presently the works are concentrated around the treatment of the Via’s stone elements.The so- called “heavy” works (bricklaying and plastering) have been performed already. The canvas are at the restorer’s and the cabinets protect the paintings against the atmospheric conditions. The Municipality has allotted a sum of 280 thousand PLN to the renovation.
The other sacred object in Wieliczka which regained its former splendour thanks to the dotation is the St.Klemens church. The ending of stone works concerning the details of the church’s elevation is planned for the 23rd November,during the Holy Mass celebrated by the cardinal Stanisław Dziwisz during the church fair.Renovation of the St.Klemens church has been conducted under the watchful eye of the voivodeship historic objects restorer.
The church, after the renovation works' end shall regain its former splendour and thus shall remind of the Josephian Baroque – the period when it was built.
