1st November - All Saints Day

1st November - All Saints Day - the day on which we visit the graves of the dearest deceased. Many of us shall visit the municipal cemetery in Wieliczka on this occassion in order to light the candles in the memory of the deceased families and friends.

Bearing this in mind, the Wieliczka Muncipal Cemetery Board provides some significant informations, the knowledge of which shall help us celebrate this very special day.

On 1st November the holy services shall be celebrated in the cemetery chapel at 10 AM, 12:00 midday and 4PM, while the ceremonial holy service along with a procession shall take place at 2 PM. On this day money shall be collected in the cemetery by the Friends of Wieliczka Association for the renovation of the historic objects in the area of the cemetery - it shall be the only public collection and the collectors shall be equipped with the proper identifiers.

The Wieliczka cemetery shall be open from Friday to Monday on twenty-four-hour basis.

The safety of the visitors shall be guarded by the functionaries of the municipal guard and the police.

During these days the Wieliczka Municipal Guard shall be on night duty. On 1st November the cemetery's administration shall function from 8AM to 4 PM;its office is located in the same building as the chapel.

The cemetery's board also informs that one shall be able to find mobile sanitary facilities in the car park near the necropolis (the old part) and at the Czarnochowicka Street (entrance to the new part). It shall be possible to access water; the water taps are located by the cemetery wall from the direction of Czarnochowicka Street (the new part).There are 17 outlets where one can buy flowers and candles.The rubbish from the cemetery is being removed regularly;all the vistors are being asked to leave the waste in the specially designated places.
